BIO
As an artist, I focus on human, social, and environmental issues in rural and post-conflict communities. My long-term work blends fine art and documentary, exploring memory, resilience, and the quiet details of place. I’m drawn to form, shadow, and light—often using monochrome to evoke the space between reality and illusion.
I’ve collaborated with organizations such as UNHCR, GIZ, the Arab Renaissance for Democracy and Development, and the Human Rights Center at Duke University. My project The Backpackers was shown at the 2017 Venice Biennale, and My Original Face in 2019. My work has been exhibited at the Climate Change Summit (Paris), C40 Mayors Summit (Mexico City), Makerere Art Gallery (Uganda), and the Corcoran Gallery (Washington, D.C.). It is part of Duke’s David M. Rubenstein Rare Book and Manuscript Library. Awards include the Project Launch Grant (Center Santa Fe), Beth Block Award, and over ten IPA and PX3 awards.
